Moving to and from aircraft at night for patient drop off and report. Real training for both the air and ground crews with patient treatment and hand-offs. This is a critical time for the patient, and the point where most accidents happen that cause additional harm to the patient. These mishaps worsen the patient's outcome, and increase the morbidity and mortality rate. This is also a dangerous time for those unfamiliar with the aircraft.

Learning multiple ways to call in an aircraft for patient pickup. For this particular scenario, the Buzz Saw Method was used. Just because you have communications with the aircraft does not mean they can find you. This gives the air and ground crew not just training with landing zone preparations, but also patient treatment, patient hand-off, Night Vision training, and different ways of signaling the aircraft. You're not always going to have flashing lights.

Calling in gear for drop-off or resupply kick off (speed ball) during any event is critical for sustainment in the field environment. Knowing when and how to call for and pick the right location per the environment you are working is just as critical for ground elements as the flight crews.

Search and Rescue / MEDEVAC / Hoist Operations is a critical task to perform and to maintain proficiency at. When the time comes to perform it for a real World mission the World will be watching. Your A Game needs to be on point for the air crew, ground elements, and patient. All aspects of this mission are critical from setting up MEDEVAC Operations/SAR, receiving a mission (9-Line), HLZ Operations, Medical Care, Patient Packaging, Patient Handoff, Hoist Operations, (Dynamic or Static), Gear Selection and Competency, Communications, Safety, Aircraft Maintenance, Air Crew Competency, Aviation Life Support Equipment , and anything that has to do with the mission from start to finish. We can help get your program up and running, improving what is in place, getting you to the next level, or just maintaining the high performance level your agency has.
